Running, short runs, walking

The Running Accident

So. I’ve been following the ease into 10k running plan since late December.

I did weeks 2 and 5 twice (due to a bit of a cold) and this means I’m officially in week 9 out of ten now.

So far, it’s been the same run three times a week, getting tougher every week.

Last Tuesday, I went out did my 4x 10 minute run with 2 minute walk intervals… And then I went for week 8 run 2 on Thursday and kept running and waiting for that posh British voice say,

“Slow down for a brisk walk.”

Only it didn’t happen before halfway through my run.

Apparently, in week 8, they start doing away with all walking intervals. 🙂 So, from now on, I’m back to my trusted Endomondo.

I feel like I’m finally back at a place where I can start thinking about distance building instead of just being able to run. 😀

Which is kinda good, seeing as how I’m signed up for a 7km race mid-May and a half marathon mid-June.

Which is kinda scary, seeing as I’m going on a ten day skiing holiday to Sweden on Friday. :p
I’m hoping the running pause won’t be very bad since it’s a sporty holiday. 🙂

P. S.

The past week was filled with the Titanic. Once with my class, once for the US ambassador’s reception. Of course, we had to dress as sailors. :p
